A Valentine Treat Tutorial

Hi there! It's Pattie here and I'm sharing a little Valentine Treat Holder tutorial with you today!

You will need the following for this project:

Whimsy Stamps Image - I used the Meljen's Rose Bloom - colored
5" x 12" piece of double sided designer paper
5" x 2" piece of coordinating cardstock
5" x 1" piece of coordinating cardstock
5" wide (or less) cellophane bag and candy
Scoring board and tool
Embossing folder (optional)
Die cutting tools (optional)
Edge punch
20" of Ribbon and Embellishments
Coordinating cardstock (scraps are fine)
Ink for edges

Score the 5" x 12" piece of double sided designer paper at 1", 6", 6 1/2" and 7".
Fold the scored paper as shown in the photo below and set aside.

Score the 5" x 2" piece of coordinating cardstock at 1" and fold in half.
Apply adhesive just under the fold on both sides. Fill your cellophane bag with candy and seal closed with adhesive. Adhere the bag to the topper and press firmly.

Apply adhesive to the inside of the treat holder, just under the top flap.

Use the edge punch to cut a decorative edge on the 5" x 1" piece of coordinating cardstock and adhere to the top outside edge of the treat holder as shown below.
Center your ribbon and adhere to the inside edge of the treat holder as shown below.

Fold the treat holder as shown below.

The longer front piece will go under the decorative edge.
Wrap the ribbon around the front and tie into a bow or knot.
The treat holder is now ready for embellishing as you wish!

I embossed a piece of cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, inked the edges and adhered it to my treat holder. Then, I cut three sizes of hearts using my Spellbinders hearts dies, inked the edges with red and adhered them together. I stamped a sentiment and matted it on the same designer paper.

My image is the Rose Bloom from Meljen's Designs at Whimsy Stamps.
I colored it with copics and cut it out.

Adhere the die cuts to the treat holder. I added pop dots to the back of my image and sentiment and adhered them to the treat holder. A couple of gem corners are the finishing touch!

Here is a side view of the finished treat holder.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Have fun making one for your Valentine!
