Storybook Fairy

Happy Saturday everyone!  Simonne here, just popping by to share a brand new card I've just made!

I used 2 stamps from the most recent Whimsy Stamps rubber release for my card - Little Fairy Friend and Fairy Toadstools - plus one of the gorgeous Birthday Postage Stamps and the coordinating Postage Stamp die to cut it out!

I wanted to create the look of a page that had been ripped out of a storybook - I hope I suceeded! And so I just had to use the gorgeous 'book' paper from my Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe 6x6 pad for the main background DP (as well as 2 of the other designs in this pad). Further details are on my blog.

Okay, that's it from me!! :o)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend - it's another 4-day weekend for us Brits, yippee!!

Hugs,

Tutorial: Colouring in small areas with Copics - clothes (dull creamy yellow and greyish purple)

I am back to colouring up Kitty Katastrophy .  Today I am showing you how I achieved those muted yellow and purplish gray tones on her clothes.

I would actually call it more so a colouring video than a tutorial. A lot of babbling, as usual.

Markers needed:
YR21, YR23, Y28, E97
and
BV20/23/25/29

You can see all my colouring videos on Youtube HERE.

The second part of that video about colouring suede leather boots and adding final touches is coming up soon.

And THEN I'm going to tackle colouring on kraft cardstock with Prismacolor pencils, lol

Luvs ya all!
Hugs

Tutorial: colouring tousled dark reddish brown hair

Here is my next tutorial coloring Kitty Katastrophe. This time I'll show how I'm colouring her hair. I wanted it to be rich reddish brown and messy-looking, thus without very sharp highlights.
The markers I am using are YR14, E59/19/08. The paper is a marker blending card from Make It Crafty, takes a lot of abuse, that stuff!!

You can watch it on Youtube HERE.

Next week I will have a little tutorial on colouring her clothing.

Thanks a million for dropping by!
Hugs

Happy Spring...Baby Joon in the Meadow

Hi All!!  Spring is here!!  Not really here in New York although it should be...

Anywho...I wanted to share one of the fun spring images over at Whimsy.

This uses the darling Newborn Joon  and the Meadow background available at Whimsy Stamps and illustrated by the Uber talented Crissy Armstrong.

The designer paper is from Websters Pages and SU.  The bow is tied with the bow easy using White wrinkled ribbon from May Arts.  The image is colored with copics.  The card is framed in brown but the picture makes it look brown.  Tomorrow I will post a matching piece to this card to make it a giftset on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Have a great day!

Tutorial on colouring the face with Copic markers

Hi all Whimsy fans, it's Annika here!

I finally managed to put together a video tutorial and as colouring face was one of popular requests I started there. I am still learning and struggling with video editing so be merciful.

I am using Kenny K rubber stamp Kitty Katastrophe from Whimsy Stamps  and marker blending paper from Make It Crafty.

DISCLAIMER:
1) I am NO expert. Don't even have Copic certification and can't get certified here in Ireland either, as far as I know.
2) I do have strong accent and poor-ish English. Brace yourselves.
3) I'm a waffler. 'Nuf said.

First video requires following markers:
E13/11/01/00/000/0000 (the last one is optional)

You can watch it on Youtube HERE - the quality options are better there.

The second video is a very short one on colouring eyes and lips. It was originally part of the first one and butchered in editing to ultra short. It's thus fairly useless but I just didn't have time to re-edit. :( I'll plan things better next time (well, I hope to).

You will need B02/05 and R12/14/39

You can watch it on Youtube HERE - the quality options are better there.

Thanks for dropping by!!
Hugs

Hello Whimsy Fans! Iris here! It's my turn today to post on the Whimsy blog and I like to show you two of my latest creations! The first card I liek to show is using Rainy Day Duckling. Isn't it just too adorable?

I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS. Papers are from 'Black Market Paper Society' and the die cut doily circle is I think a Marianne Design die. I also used Stickles for some sparkle. The sentiment is from the 'Spring Letter Seals' and you'll find it HERE

On my second card I used one of the Kenny K Designs stamps called 'Trouble Maker'.

This time I colored again with my pencils (Prismas) BUT did not use any kind of blender. So no Gamsol (OMS) or blender pencils etc. were used to blend the colors, only the pencils itself. The sentiment is from the digital Fast Lane Sentiments  and I also used the new Whimsy Double Scalloped border die. DP is from MME, the decorative pin is self-made and flowers and ribbon are from my stash.

Thanks for dropping in today and have a wonderful day!
Hugs,

Let Them Eat Cake

Hi there Whimsy fans,
Stephanne here to share with you a project
I made with one of our lastest releases!!!

I've used the adorable Benny and Joon Have Cake from the Crissy Armstrong collection at Whimsy Stamps!!
They've been coloured in distress inks and the paper, which I am in love with, at the moment, is by 3 Bugs in a Rug, the flowers are Prima and the sentiment comes with the stamp, yay coordinates!! I also used our newly released lace die cut from Whimsy's Shapeology Collection and ran some gingham through it. My cake has a slathering of Frosted Lace Stickles on it.

Help For Japan Special Blog Hop!

Hello and happy Monday friends!!
I have something very special to announce today and we hope you will join us!!
Starting today, April 4th at noon EST
The illustrators of Whimsy Stamps have come together to draw a special set of digital stamp images for the purpose of raising money for the relief effort in Japan. All proceeds (less any PayPal fees) from the sale of these images will be donated to that cause. Kenny K, Raindrop Echo Designs, Meljens Designs, and Crissy Armstrong all contributed special art work just for this purpose.

During the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice) by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site. Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.
Several DT members have also joined together as one effort to put together this special blog hop for you to enjoy while helping to raise efforts and awareness for our friends in Japan.  If you would like to take a peek at all of the wonderful digital images and beautiful creations from many different DT members,  then we would like to have you join with us through this special blog hop!

This hop runs from now through til Sunday April 10 at noon EST.  There will be several opportunities to win blog candy!  Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set.  So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi!  Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize!  The grand prize will consist of the entire digital set made just for this cause as well as a gift certificate donated by Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs worth 10$ to use at the Whimsy Stamps store! To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from the top of this post) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Crissy's post so we can be sure to find the winner.
